Bik Ching Chan Eng passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2009
Born in, Kowloon, Hong Kong, July 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Chang Wing Fong and the late Chan May Ying. In 1948 she married Chuck Hing Eng and emigrated to the United States. Ching was a Stamford resident for over 60 years, owning and operating the Sam Lee Laundry with her husband.
Mrs. Eng is survived by six children: Patricia Quon Kazmierski and husband Walter of Woodbury, CT; Elsie Quon Eng of Los Angeles, CA; Peter Quon and wife Dorothy Chow of Long Beach, CA; Kenneth Eng and wife Margaret Wilder of New Milford, CT; Richard Eng and wife Sandra Hunt of Las Vegas, NV; Nancy Finchler and husband Evan of Norwalk, CT.
She is also survived by ten grandchildren: David Haberfeld, of Bristol, CT; Matthew Haberfeld of Durham,NC; Paul Kazmierski, of Woodbury, CT; Lindsay Quon, Robin Quon, and Scott Quon, all of Long Beach, CA; Katherine Ching Eng of NYC, NY; Allison Michelle Eng of Washington, CT; Noah Finchler and Lana Finchler, both of Norwalk, CT. In addition she is survived by one great-granddaughter, Ciera Rose Haberfeld of Bristol,CT.
Ching will be forever remembered by her families and friends for her determination, resourcefulness, generosity, unconditional love and support. She lived a life of sacrifice so that her future generations might benefit.
Funeral Services will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT, 06902 on Thursday May 7th at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between the hours of 10 and 12 p.m. on Thursday morning.
