Blaze Faillace, 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Born June 2, 1913 in Stamford, he was the son of the late John and Ermina Faillace.
Blaze was a retired milkman for the Borden Milk Company for thirty five years, after which he worked for the City of Stamford, Parks and Recreation Department, for ten years. He was a devoted family man.
He is survived by his son, John Faillace and his wife Martina of Ridgefield; a daughter, Joann Rachinsky and her husband Robert of Norwalk; a grandson, Michael Faillace of Stamford; a granddaughter, Tracie Ellsworth of Southbury; a grandson, Rob Rachinsky of Norwalk. A former second wife, Eileen DiMasi of Fairfield; five former step-children; four great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Rose Maltaso Faillace; three brothers, John, Louis and Anthony Faillace; and two sisters, Molly Tomczyk; and Frances Palmer.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, November 4 from 3:00 5:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:20 AM on Monday, November 5, and proceed to St. Marys RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Reverend Arthur Mollenhauer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien.
