Bruno Mammone, 81, of Southbury, CT passed away on October 31, 2013. He was born on November 11, 1931 in Stamford to the late Joseph and Rose Mammone.
Bruno is survived by his wife, Joan and his three children, Michael J. Mammone (Cynthia), Michele O’Neill (John) and Joseph Mammone (Maritza), eight grandchildren, Heather, Jessica, Leslie, Samantha, Michael, Jonathan, Joseph M. and Joseph D., two great grandchildren, Giabella and Shay, two sisters; Mary Lee and Josephine LaChapelle and one brother, John Mammone, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bruno was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Cocchia and one sister Emily Pikikero. Bruno was a Korean War Veteran who served in the US Navy. Bruno was unofficially known as the “Mayor of Summer Street” where he owned and operated two gas stations from early 1960 until his retirement in 1995.He was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed building his Model A’s.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cogenetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
