Bruno Vasone
January 19, 1929 — October 1, 2013
Bruno V. Vasone, 84, formally of Stamford, passed away peacefully at the Stamford Hospital on Tuesday October 1, 2013 with his loving family by his side. Bruno was born in Stamford on January 19, 1929 to the late John and Ida Maines Vasone.
Bruno was a member of the Stillwater Indians Baseball Team and the Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He was also an avid gardener and a diehard Giants and Yankees fan.
Bruno is survived by his sister Rose DeVito and her husband Anthony of Darien, his sister-in-law, Ursula Vasone of Florida; four nieces, Karen Corcran, Kim McLean, Susan Vasone and Heidi Vasone; five nephews; Anthony DeVito, Jack DeVito, John Vasone, Daniel Vasone and Karl Vasone. Several great nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew also survive.
Besides his parents, Bruno is predeceased by his loving wife Celeste G. Garzanetti Vasone and his brother Albino Vasone.
A prayer service will take place at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT at 10:00 AM on Friday October 4, 2013. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday October 3, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donation be made in Bruno’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
