Candida M. Iacuzio

Candida M. Iacuzio, 98, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Edgehill Healthcare Center. Born May 5, 1910 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Antoinetta Leone Sgritta.
Candida was a former employee for Audio Tape and Miss Annas Dress Shop. She was also a member of the St. Benedict the Twilighters Senior Group.
She is survived by her daughter, Antonia L. Peterson and her husband Charles L. of Stamford; five grandchildren, Harold Eberhardt, Lori Kilcran, Cindy Eberhardt, Roseann Schutte and Sean Peterson; seven great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Emiddio T. Iacuzio; daughter, Rose Eberhardt; granddaughter, Judith Eberhardt; two sisters, Jenny Cerulli and Angelina Merola; and a brother, Sabatino Sgritta.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, December 28 from 2:00 6:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday, December 29 and proceed to St. Mary RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to the St. Mary Restoration Fund, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT 06902.
