Carl J. DelVecchio, 95, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Richard Rosenthal Hospice in Stamford. Born February 18, 1911 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Gentile DelVecchio.
He was an employee of Fairfield Home Oil in Stamford as a Sales Manager having retired in 1976. He was also employed with Electrolux for over fifteen years. He was a member of Union Lodge #5 A.F.& A.M. for sixty-four years having been a holder of the Order of the Purple Cross for Distinguished Service.
He is survived by his son, Tom DelVecchio of Stamford; two grandchildren, Matt White of Darien; and Jeanne White of Denver, CO; three sisters, Josie Butts of Stamford; Connie Hadala of FL; and Peggy Serricchio of Stamford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy N. Huffman Del Vecchio; and his second wife, Maria Lourdes Costa DelVecchio; two daughters, Sharon Lassaw; and Donna White; a sister, Louise Benedetti; and two brothers, Joseph and Carter DelVecchio.
Calling hours will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Douglas McArthur officiating.
