Carl J. DeBartholomew, Jr., 82 of Stamford, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Stamford Hospital. Born on July 24, 1927 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Carl J. and Caterina Gerardi DeBartolomeo, Sr.
Carl was a Truck Salesman for International Harvester at Elm Sales and Service for many years. He was a member of the Glenbrook AC. Carl was a sports fan, always rooting for the Yankees and the Giants, and was also an avid golfer.
Carl is survived by his wife, Judith Frank DeBartholomew of Stamford; his daughter Dana E. Currie of Norwalk; his sister Frances Arecco of Stamford; his brother Paul DeBartolomeo of Stamford; three grandchildren, Donald E. Currie III, Ryan B. Currie and Sean M. Currie; and one great-grandson, Noah A. Currie.
In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Cappiello and Rosary Costello.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Gabriel RC Church, 914 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905. Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902, on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 2:00-5:00PM. Interment will be private.
