Carmela Faubel, 76, of Stamford, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, surrounded by her family. Born in Port Chester, NY, on June 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina Sileo Lovito.
Carmela was a member of the Glenbrook Chapter of T.O.P.S., she was an active member of St. Maurice RC Church, where she was a “Greeter”. She was a Cribbage Champion, as well as an avid Yankee fan.
Carmela is survived by her husband, Leroy Faubel of Stamford; six children, Roy Faubel of Stamford; Joseph Faubel & his wife Kathleen of Hawley, PA; Charles Faubel & his wife Donna of Dover, DE; Susan Cornelio & her husband Philip of Stamford; Debra Johnstone & her husband James of Stamford; Angela Cornelio & her husband John of Stamford; grandchildren, Stephen, Daniel and Mark Faubel; Travis and Shannon Faubel; Regina, Philip and Matthew Cornelio; Nicole and John Cornelio; and a great-grandson, Grayson Lauer. A sister, Geraldine Salvatore of Rye Brook, NY, also survives.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jane Martinetti; and a brother, Genaro Lovito who was a Vietnam Veteran.

A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 8:15 AM on Saturday, August 29, and proceed to St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary RC Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY.
