Carmella Santora
March 7, 1926 — June 30, 2013
Carmella “Tootsie” Santora, 87, of Stamford, formally of Greenwich, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on June 30, 2013.
Born on March 7, 1926 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Louise Zottola. She grew up in Stamford and was a Graduate of Shorts Secretarial school and worked as a secretary for the Canada Dry Corporation for twenty five years in Greenwich.
Carmella is survived by her daughters; Rosemarie Zurkowski and her husband Richard of Stamford, and Camille Santora and Alicia of Norwalk, four grandchildren; Richard and his wife Barbara, Kristy, Jonathan and his wife Melissa and Benjamin, six great-grandchildren; Kody, Jesse, Chloe, Sève, Michael and Joseph.
Besides her parents, Carmella is predeceased by her husband Frank Santora, her brother James Zottola, sisters; Lena Zicaro and Albina Altomare.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory; 104 Myrtle Avenue Stamford, CT TONIGHT, July 2, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church; 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s RC Cemetery.
