Carmen Rios Marin

Carmen Rios Marin, 80, who resided in Stamford for the past 8 months with her daughter, Maria, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2009. Born on June 10, 1928 in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Flor Rios and Margarita Marin.
Carmen is survived by two daughters, Maria Fernandez of Stamford and Carmen Fernandez of Puerto Rico; a son, Hector Fernandez of Puerto Rico; two grandsons, Owin Velazquez of Stamford and Eliut Velazquez of Norwalk; and two granddaughters, Maria Paoletta of Milford and Teresita Smith of West Haven. She is also survived by fifteen additional grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Arcadio Fernandez; one daughter; and three sons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 2, 2009, at St. Marys RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
