Carol Cynthia Gagliardo
November 30, 1923 — June 9, 2008
Carol Cynthia Gagliardo, 84, of Stamford, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 9, 2008. Born in Greenwich on November 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Karol and Cora Jensen DeHaan.
Carol was a former employee of State National Bank in Greenwich, GTE and Pitney Bowes. She was a member of the St. Marys Seniors, St. Marys Rosary Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved going to Cove Island. Her hobbies were photography, bowling, travel and writing.
Carol is survived by three daughters; Karen Williams of Greenwich, Pamela G. Gagliardo of Stamford, and Heidi J. Gagliardo of Norwalk; four sons; Karel and his wife Mitchie Williams of San Diego, Robert and his wife Maryann Curto of Cos Cob, Anthony F. Gagliardo Jr. of Stamford, and Jeff and his wife Roseann Gagliardo of Norwalk; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren also survive. Her two dogs Bella and Sherman already miss her.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her stepfather, Merle Gould; her husband, Anthony F. Gagliardo Sr.; and a sister, Rhoda Piasecki.
A funeral service will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, Thursday, June 12 at 9:45 AM, with the Rev. Richard Futie officiating. Interment will then follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 8 PM.
