Caroline Bollettieri, 93, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2017. She was born on August 5, 1923 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Nicholas and Carolina Eremita Giannotti.
Caroline was a Graduate of Albert Leonard High School, Class of 1941, where she was a member of the HI-Y Club, the softball team, the basketball team, the Italian Club, and many other activities. After graduation, she began working at the Huguenot Trust Company in New Rochelle, NY, where she worked for twelve years. She also worked as a bookkeeper at CTE in Stamford for over twenty years and was one of the founding members of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Caroline had a sharp and inquisitive mind and was very interested in current affairs. Up until the last day of her life, she was an avid reader with so much curiosity about the world. She loved the outdoors and loved to garden and go to the beach. She had a wealth of knowledge about flowers and bushes and was totally self-taught. Caroline lived her life on her own terms.
Her friends and family will miss her kindness, her sense of humor, and her wonderful cooking.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Bollettieri and her spouse Beverly Grzymala of West Haven, CT, her loving son Kenneth Bollettieri and his wife Angela of Stamford, her sister, Ann Regina of New Rochelle, NY and her sister in law, Margaret Giannotti of GA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Caroline was also predeceased by her husband, Patrick J. Bollettieri and her brother Michael Giannotti.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
