Carrie Benvenuto Rosa

Carrie Benvenuto Rosa, 97, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Stamford Hospital. Born September 29, 1909 in Greenwich, CT she was the daughter of the late William and Theresa Chiapetta Benvenuto.
Carrie was a member of St. Maurice RC Church for sixty-five years.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucy McQuillan of West Palm Beach, FL; two sons, John J. Rosa and his wife Carole of Ridgefield, CT; and Dominick Rosa, Jr. of New Canaan; a sister, Helen Benvenuto of Old Greenwich, CT; two brothers, Peter Benvenuto of Riverside, CT; and Joseph Benvenuto and his wife Katherine of Byram, CT; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Gaetani of Stamford, CT; and Vera Benvenuto of Riverside, CT. Ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Dominick Rosa, Sr.; three sisters, Rose Shantar; Angelina Benvenuto; and Florence Frey; two brothers, Ralph and Victor Benvenuto; a daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Thompson Rosa; and a great-granddaughter, Amerra Zalikha.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, August 26, 2007 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:40 AM on Monday, August 27, 2007 and proceed to St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum at St. Johns Cemetery, Camp Avenue, Darien. www.cognetta.com
