Caterina Scicchitano

Caterina Scicchitano, 101, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Long Ridge of Stamford. She was born on August 19, 1913 in Italy to the late Joseph and Maria Valentino Migliazza.
Caterina was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Paula S. Ferraina of Darien, her loving sons, Vincent Scicchitano of Norwalk, Agostino Scicchitano and his wife Lucy of Stamford, Luigi Scicchitano and his wife Angela of Stamford and Pasquale Scicchitano and his wife Angela of Stamford, as well as fourteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Caterina was predeceased by her husband Cosimo Scicchitano in 2004.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 8:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Greenwich. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
