Catherine Munoz

Catherine Vejar Munoz, 85, of Kentucky and a former resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Regis Woods in Louisville, KY. She was born in Stamford on June 8, 1930 to the late Isadore and Francis Arena Vejar.
Catherine was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was the focal point of her life.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda Pica of Louisville, KY, Karen Spezzano and her husband Astor”Ozzie” of Stamford, Christopher Munoz and his wife Vivian of Trumbull, CT, a brother Chico Vejar and his wife Carol Cognetta Vejar of Athens, GA, as well as five grandchildren, Gary Chojnowski, Kaitlyn Munoz, Korrie Munoz, Linsey Munoz, Todd Pica and four great grandchildren, Jonathan, Joseph and Jenna Chojnowski and Aubrey Pica.
Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband Julius Munoz in 1991, a son Armando Munoz and a son in law Louis Pica.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Catherine’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105.
