Catherine Sette

Catherine Dorothy Sette, 96 of Stamford, passed away surrounded by her loving husband and children on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Stamford Hospital. Born on January 31, 1914 in Dasa Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Mariangela Bruni Gerace.
Catherine was a devoted and loving mother, wife and grandmother and greatly enjoyed taking care of her family, especially cooking and crocheting for them.
Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Joseph Sette of Stamford; three daughters, Frances Tarzia of Stamford, Angelina Sandolo of Wilton and Anna Occhuizzo of Danbury; two sons, Michael Sette of Florida and Vincent Sette of Stamford; and one brother, Jerome Gerace of Florida. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her two sisters, Anna Pelli and Antonietta Sette; and two brothers, Dominic and Francesco Gerace.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 11:00AM on Monday, August 9, 2010 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Entombment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 3:00-7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Catherine’s name to a charity of one’s own choice.
