Catherine Weigner
March 17, 1920 — February 14, 2013
Catherine G. Weigner passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 14, 2013. She was born on St. Patrick’s Day , March 17, 1920, in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of James and Susan Nicoll.
She was educated in Rhode Island, and after graduation became a secretary at the Grinnell Company headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island.
She was a fifty three year member of the First Congregational Church of Old Greenwich, CT. where she served as a deaconess. She was a past member of the Greenwich Womens Club, and the Mianus River Garden Club. Cathie was interested in gardening, decorating, and flower arranging, for which she was awarded a number of recognition prizes and awards.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Arthur C. Weigner, two sons, Ronald and his wife Beverly, of Sudbury, MA and Stephen of Cos Cob, CT. and two grandchildren, Carrie Ann (Weigner) and her husband, Patrick Rogers , a great-grandson Reid Logan Rogers, of Ashland, MA, David and Senne (Weigner) of Somerville, MA., and sister-in-law Lois Forrest of Greene, NY and Gwen Weigner of Warwick, R.I.
Cathie was warm and caring. She had many friends, especially those from the Mianus River Garden Club and the Womens Fellowship club at the church. She will be missed very much.
Interment will be privately held at a graveside service in the First Congregational Church burial grounds, in Old Greenwich, Connecticut.
