Cecilia Ottaviano

Cecilia M. “Ceil” Ottaviano, 88, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, NY, NY. She was born in Stamford on March 29, 1927 to the late Samuel and Maria E. Turcio Tartaglia.
Ceil was very involved with helping her husband, Theodore in their family business, the Post Grocers in Stamford for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her devoted husband of sixty seven years, Theodore R. Ottaviano of Stamford, her loving children Joyce Cavaliere and her husband Frank of Stamford, Connie Vass and her husband Clint of Stamford and Ted Ottaviano of Brooklyn, NY. Also surviving is her brother David Tartaglia and his wife Carol, sister in laws Maryanne and Sally Tartaglia all of Stamford as well as three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ceil was predeceased by her sister Camille Tartaglia and two brothers Ralph and Sam Tartaglia.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 10:10 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
