Cesira Bocchino
May 20, 1908 — August 24, 2006
Cesira Bocchino, 98, a longtime resident of Stamford, entered into eternal rest on Thursday August 24, 2006 at St. Camillus Health Care Center. Born in Italy, Reggio Calabria on May 20, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Maria DeBianco DeMarco.
She attended college at Salesian de SGiovanni Bosco College, Maria Ausigliatrie all Marina Province Messina, Italy.
Her life was dedicated to her family and grandchildren. All who knew her cherished her for her enthusiasm, candor, wit, charm, beauty, and love of life. Cesira enjoyed painting, playing the piano, gardening, cooking and the company of family and loving grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Bocchino of Stamford; her son, John B. Bocchino, Jr. of Monroe; and six loving grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of thirty eight years, John Bocchino.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 10:20 AM on Monday August 28 and proceed to Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
