Charles Nichols

Charles G. Nichols, 94, lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Born March 9, 1917, he was the son of the late George and Sofia Giankarras Nicolopulos.
Charles was a retired employee of the City of Stamford, as a Surveyor in the Engineering Dept. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Charles is survived by his two loving daughters Georgia and her husband John Keogh of Fairfield, CT, and Melissa and her husband Peter Murray of Ridgefield, CT. He is also survived by three granddaughters, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
Besides his parents Charles was predeceased by his wife Leonora Davis Nichols, his two brothers Nicholas Nichols and William Nicholson as well as his sister Margaret Paspalis.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00AM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT.
