Charles Robotti, 93, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Laurel Center in New Hampshire on December 21, 2008. Born September 10, 1915 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Frank and Caroline Caltera Robotti.
Charles was a lifetime resident of Stamford, only moving to New Hampshire five years ago. He was one of three brothers who owned STAR CONFECTIONARY and Star Liquor for over fifty years, retiring in the late 1980s. Charles was also a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Gleeson of Stamford; two grandchildren, Matthew R. Gleeson and Emily K. Gleeson of Stamford; a brother, George U. Robotti and his wife Jean of Burlington, VT; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Stephanie Fulco Robotti; his twin brother, Francis Robotti; and a sister, Alice Lockwood.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, December 26 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM on Saturday, December 27 and proceed to Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.
