Charles J. Rondano, age 91, a 79 year resident of Stamford, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Stamford Hospital from complications of pneumonia. Born August 4, 1916 in Sarah Furnace, PA, he was the son of the late Camello Peter and Vittoria Rollo Rondano.
Charles was a Welder for Capitol Records until his retirement in 1982.
He is survived by four daughters, Beverly Rondano of Norwalk; Anne Faugno of New Port Richie, FL; Diane Tomasko of Stratford; and Peggy Kirk of Monroe; and three sons, Charles M. Rondano, of Darien, member of the SPD; Mark Rondano of Los Angeles, CA; and Edward J. Rondano of Darien, member of the SPD. Three sisters, Rose Magliola of Poughkeepsie, NY; Angela Dragonette of Lakeland, FL; and Olympia (Lee) Lord of Menifee, CA; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Shirley M. OBrien Rondano; and a daughter, Sharon Fasoli; four Brothers, Frank, Marcello (Happy) John and James Rondano; and a sister Mary Benevelli.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 8:40 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 and proceed to St. Mary RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
