Charles A. Schenarts, 85, passed away August 15, 2007. Born May 9, 1922 in West Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Mae and Gustave Schenarts of New Haven.
Charles attended Hillhouse High School, and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force in the Pacific Operation having served in World War II and received the Purple Heart.
Charles retired from the Wallerstein Co., Division of Baxter Lab with 25 years of service. He was a parishioner and usher at St. Gabriel Church and was the treasurer of St. Gabriel Seniors, and a member of AARP North Stamford Chapter #2002. He was also a member of the American Society of Brewing Chemists and Master Brewers Association of America.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Elizabeth �"Betty Parodi Schenarts; two daughters, Charleen B. Gorin of Old Greenwich; and Suzanne E. Dunn and her husband Kevin of Newtown, CT; and four grandchildren, Annie and Emily Gorin; and Kevin C. and Christine Dunn.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, August 19, 2007 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Monday, August 20, 2007 and proceed to St. Gabriel Church, 914 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue in North Haven.
