Christine Ann Chimblo, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 8th, 2012. A lifelong resident of Stamford, born on July 28, 1936 to the late John and Agnes Rubino Galatro.
Christine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was the consummate homemaker; she made her house a home. She was also an astounding cook.
Mrs. Chimblo is survived by her loving son Philip W. Chimblo and his wife Alane of Norwalk. Her brother Vincent Galatro and his wife Rose of Stamford. Her step-grandsons Thomas, Steven, and Zachary Grimm all of Norwalk. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Janet DeLuca, John Galatro, Jr., Gail Galatro all of Stamford and Patty Mastrianna of Wilton.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband Lawrence J. Chimblo.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT at 9:20 AM on Thursday, November 15, 2012 and proceed to celebrate at 10:00AM a Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT followed by inurnment at the St. Johns RC Cemetery, Norwalk, CT. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
