Christine Hanson Moseley

Christine Hanson Moseley, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Chris was born in Stamford on October 13, 1951, to Wanda Jaworoski Hanson and the late Carl “Jack” Hanson. She was 74 years old. Chris was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her.

Chris is survived by her loving husband, Tom Moseley, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage; her daughters, Tara Dunn and her husband, Gary, and Caitlin Lafferty and her husband, Joey; and her three beloved grandchildren, Madison, Grayson, and Jojo, who brought her endless joy and lovingly called her “Lovey.” She is also survived by her mother, Wanda Hanson of Stamford; her brother, Kevin Hanson of Stamford; and her cherished nieces and nephews.

Chris dedicated herself to raising her daughters, a role she treasured most. Later in life, she became a teacher at Roxbury Nursery School, a job she truly adored. A kid at heart, she had a natural gift with children, and her students loved her dearly. She was a lover of nature and happiest when she was outside tending to her garden or by the ocean searching for beach treasures. Her favorite place was Elbow Cay in the Bahamas, a tiny island where she felt most at peace. Creative and artistic, Chris was also a talented baker, often sharing her creations with those she loved. Chris will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle and fun-loving spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. She created a home filled with care and joy, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Friends and family may offer their sympathy and condolences at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., in Stamford from 10 AM to 12 PM on Monday, May 4th. A prayer service will be offered beginning at 12 PM. The interment will follow the prayer service at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in North Stamford.
