Christopher Olmstead, a 43 year old over the road truck driver, spent more than half of his life traveling the open roads and running across the United States and Canada with his son, Max (a German Sheppard), and his wife, Linda. Recently, Chris decided to park his rig and settle down in his hometown and try something totally foreign to him
A house with a fence and a job in a structured environment. This killed his free spirit. IF YOU WERE BORN TO RUN, THEN RUN!
Christopher passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at his home in Stamford. Born November 10, 1965 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Elsie May June Olmstead. Christopher was a Veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Mayers Olmstead; a brother, Steven D. Olmstead; a sister, Cynthia L. Olmstead all of Stamford; two nieces, Daphne F. Stavrianos and Amanda V. Huertas; and a nephew, Zachariah N. Olmstead.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Brian C. Olmstead; and a sister, Bonnie G. Olmstead.
Friends and family may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday, December 23 from 10:00 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford.
