Corina Bianca Trombetto, 90 of Stamford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 3, 2010. Born on February 14, 1920 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Augusto and Presilda DeGiorgis Colombano.

She was employed at the Federal Bake Shop in the 1950’s and later the Hans Griner Bakery on Bedford Street in the 1960’s. Her favorite pastime was her cooking, especially Sunday Dinner where she was known for her famous eggplant parmesan and veal cutlets.

Corina is survived by her son, Thomas Trombetto; granddaughters, Stacy and Melissa Trombetto; and her sister Ninfa Trehubenko and her husband Michael. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Corina was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Trombetto; daughter-in-law Patricia Loglisci Trombetto; and her sister Josephine Orsino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT. Entombment will follow at St. John Mausoleum, Darien, CT.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in Corina’s name to a charity of one’s choice. Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, is handling the arrangements.
