ENDERS, CORINNE ENGELSBERG
Corinne E. Enders, 83, a retired reading and learning disabilities specialist, died peacefully Wednesday evening, June 20, 2012, at the Greenwich Woods Health Care Center, where she resided since October 2008.
A brief committal service prior to cremation will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, Ct. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Corinne was a graduate of Germantown High School and Penn State University. While raising four children, one of whom was diagnosed at an early age with a learning disability, she continued her education at the College of New Rochelle, where she earned her Master's degree in Reading. After running a private tutoring practice out of her former home in Larchmont, N.Y., and teaching briefly at SUNY Purchase, Corinne became director of the Hallen Center in Harrison, N.Y., a school for children with learning disabilities.
She is survived by her daughters, Jody Enders (Eric D'Hoker), Emily Enders Odom (John), and Georgiana Enders; her son, Eric Enders (Sandi); and her grandchildren, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Odom.
