On Friday, December 18, 2020, heaven gained a new angel. The love of my life, Connie Koss, passed away at Stamford Hospital at the age of 59. Born on August 18, 1961, she was the youngest of 7 children. She was adored by her parents, Ernesto and Maria Pisano as well as her sister Teresa and her five brothers, Domenick (Maria), Benito (Rose), Ronnie, Tony (Valerie) and Claude Pisano.

Connie was a graduate of Wright Tech in Stamford and received diplomas from several business and medical training schools. On July 5, 1986 she married Steven Koss at St Mary’s Church in Stamford. Together they spent the next 34 years in marital bliss, considered by everyone who knew them to be inseparable.

They built their home in Stamford for the vast majority of that time and then moved to Florida in 2017. It was there that she was first diagnosed with cancer and endured almost two years of treatments to battle it. In time, she came to realize that she missed her family and friends too much and decided to move back in August of this year. In October she was told that the cancer had spread and despite our best efforts, she would succumb to it only two months later. Everyone who knew Connie is heartbroken over this extremely sad turn of events. To know her, was to love her. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and never disrespected anyone she came in contact with.

Connie is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she all loved very much. She wanted so badly to live long enough to see the young ones get married, but of course that cannot happen now except from her view from heaven. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body and was kind to everyone she came in contact with. She was absolutely dedicated to her jobs in the medical field because it gave her great pleasure to help others. She also loved the fashion industry and held several positions at various companies, such as Nine West, Lord and Taylor, and Talbots. It was her dream to get her job back at Stamford Hospital upon moving back to CT in August. She accomplished that dream and was actually working there when she became recently diagnosed in October.

Connie loved to cook, especially all the great Italian dishes that she learned from her mother. She loved to travel, the highlight being a trip to Italy we made several years ago. She loved to watch older classic movies, mostly black and white, because she yearned for the simpler, calmer and more civilized time that they represent. She loved to wear fashionable clothes and always looked great. Her favorite time of year was the Christmas holiday, especially the Christmas Eve dinners that she hosted at her home in Stamford. Her death coming at this same time is only adding to this tragedy. Her loss is immeasurable, she can never be replaced nor would anyone attempt to replace her. She truly was a one of a kind.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Maria Pisano and by her sister Teresa Lorenti. She is survived by her loving husband Steve and five brothers as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 106 Myrtle Ave., in Stamford CT on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 9-11:30AM. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 12PM at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 566 Elm Street, also in Stamford, CT.
