Costas Aloupis, 76, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, December 28, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 8, 1930, he was the son of the late Vasilios and Maria Roumeliotis Aloupis of Greece.

Gus, as everyone knew him, was born in Georgitsion, Greece and came to America in 1955 where he settled in Stamford. He worked for the Norma Hoffman/Fag Bearing Company, and then Clairol Inc. until his retirement in 1986. After retiring from Clairol and along with his brother Zacharias, formed Aloupis Bros. Builders and together they built several homes in Stamford and Redding, CT. Never fully retiring, he was still very active in construction, where he helped his sons in building and remodeling projects until his illness no longer allowed him to work. Gus was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen Yonclas Aloupis; two sons and a daughter in law, Leo Aloupis; and William and Annmarie Aloupis of Stamford; and two loving granddaughters, Alexandra and Jacqueline Aloupis. He is also survived by two brothers, Christos and Zacharias Aloupis both of Stamford; and a sister, Panagiota Bratsinis of Athens, Greece; as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
