Cynthia Joy Staiger
July 31, 1952 — June 19, 2008
Cynthia Joy Staiger, 55, formerly of Stamford but resided in Sandy Hook, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2008. Born in Bedford Hills, NY on July 31, 1952, she was the daughter of Diana Medeiros Staiger and the late Larry Staiger.
Cynthia was an avid gardener, artist and worked in the insurance industry. She was also a member of the Newtown Chamber of Commerce. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her mother, survivors included a son, Brandon Ippolito and his wife Sara; a daughter, Justine Cardillo; two sisters, Dorinda Staiger Leonard and Leslie Staiger; and two grandchildren, Ava and Kellen Ippolito. She is also survived by aunts and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. All friends are asked to meet directly at church for the Mass. Interment will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Erskine Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, on Sunday, June 22, from 4:00 6:00 PM.
