Cyril Lloyd, loving and devoted father, passed away peacefully at his home in Stamford, Connecticut on July 31, 2008 at the age of 93. He was born on February 11, 1915 in Trinidad, West Indies to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Lloyd and immigrated to the United States in 1965.
He worked as a dietary aide at Greenwich Hospital and as a security guard at U.S. Tobacco in Greenwich, Connecticut.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Scholastica Lloyd.
He is survived by four sons: Carlton Lloyd of Stratford, CT; Lennox Bertley and Carlie Lloyd of Stamford, CT; and Angus Lloyd of Qatar; and six daughters: Carmen Lara of Stamford, CT; Shirley Lloyd of Stratford, CT; Lenora Lloyd of Queens, NY; Roslyn Elbourne of Quebec, Canada; Cynthia Lloyd of Stamford, Connecticut; and Margaret Lloyd of Bridgeport, CT. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, August 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Rosunde C. Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport, CT.
