Dagmar Q. Matthews, aged, 75 of Greenwich, CT passed away on March 11, 2013 from cancer. Throughout her illness as throughout her life, she maintained her quick wit, cheerful outlook, and overall grace and dignity.
Born in Breslau, Germany (now Breslau, Poland) on May 5, 1937, Dagmar was the daughter of Georg Queis and Baroness Sylvia von Tornow. She came to the U.S in 1963 with her first husband Dieter Baeu and became a permanent legal resident. Dagmar married her second husband, F. Scott Matthews, in 1972 and was widowed in 2002. In 1974, Dagmar opened Travel Systems, Inc. in Greenwich, CT. She successfully ran TSI, Inc. until 1998 when she merged with Edgewood Travel and worked there until her diagnosis in February 2013. Dagmar is survived by her sister Edda von Murait.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 12 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 1 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT. All friends are welcome.
