Daniel J. Bilotti

Daniel Bilotti was born in the Bronx, NY to Joseph and Agnes (Previtera) Bilotti. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Tarantino) Bilotti; his sister, Rachel (Bilotti) Coppinger; and his brother, Joseph Bilotti.

He is survived by his 3 children, Joseph (Claudia), Laura (John Craig), and Paul (Michelle); his 5 grandchildren, Michelle Leotta, Alyssa (Lenny Stanley), Joseph, Emily, and Julia Bilotti; his 5 great-grandchildren, Daniel and Desmond Pfennighaus, Caleb and Jacob Stanley, Nathan Llewellyn; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Dan served in the U.S. Army during WWII, participating in the liberation of the Philippines, the Battle of Okinawa, and post-war Korean occupation. He worked at American Bank Note as a compositor and linotype operator while raising his family in Yonkers and Ardsley, NY. After retiring to Heritage Hills in Somers, he volunteered on their recreation committee, spearheading the effort to install bocce courts. While organizing bocce and shuffleboard activities, he encouraged every resident to participate regardless of age or disability. More recently, he resided in CT at Atria Stamford, Benchmark at Stamford, and Stamford Care Center.

Family was the center of his life, and Dan was very close to his many cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. For 50 years, he helped organize annual Previtera family reunions. Known for his energetic, outgoing nature, he brought people together wherever he went and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved bowling, was a devoted Giants-turned-Mets fan, and never lost his admiration for Joe DiMaggio.

His family has cherished memories of playing board games, bocce, shooting pool, watching football and M*A*S*H, trips to the beach and zoo, and simply enjoying time together. Dan welcomed everyone with an open heart, providing a safe place to live, play and learn, and leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity, laughter, and love.

A memorial service to celebrate his long life will be held at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902, on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toys for Tots, https://www.toysfortots.org.
