Dennis Surmaczewicz

Dennis Surmaczewicz, a lifelong Stamford Resident passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2026 at age 65. Dennis worked as an Equipment Operator for the City of Stamford for 33 years and retired in 2019. Dennis was a member of the East Side Cardinal Club in Stamford and a member of the Teamsters Union for many years. Dennis loved to ride his motorcycle; he bowled on many leagues around Fairfield County. Growing up he loved playing baseball. Dennis owned a boat and he and Lisa spent many weekends on Long Island Sound while they were dating.

Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Joan Surmaczewicz. Dennis is survived by his wife Lisa Surmaczewicz; his son, Dennis Surmaczewicz, Jr. and daughter-in-law Sarah, son Steven Surmaczewicz, and his daughter Kerri Gentile; his brother Frank Surmaczewicz; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Jeanne Urso, sister-in-law, Judy Urso; Father-in-law Joseph Urso. Nieces Sarah, Jessica, and Stephanie, and Nephew Joseph and many friends that are like family to both Dennis and Lisa.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A prayer service will begin at 4:30 PM. Interment will be private.
