Domenico Totino, 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Stamford Hospital. Born January 1, 1927 in Gioiosa Ionica, Italy, he was the son of the late Luigi and Adelina Fenimenti Totino.
Domenico was an employee for various contractors, retiring in 1989. He loved his family, gardening and working.
He is survived by his wife, Carmela Agostino Totino; two sons, Luigi Totino and his wife Cheryl of South Windsor, CT; and Alex Totino and his wife Kathy of Stamford; two brothers, Vincenzo Totino of Italy; and Giuseppe Totino of Australia; five grandchildren: Michael, Luigi, Jr., A.J., Kelly, and Steven Totino; and three great grandchildren: Kailey, Mia and Evin Totino.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Salvatore and Rocco Totino.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, April 3 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM on Saturday, April 4 and proceed to St. Leo Parish, Roxbury Road, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105.
