Donald Klang

Donald E. Klang, 88 of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away March 17, 2011. He was born April 6, 1922 in Wausau, Wisconsin to the late Oscar C. and Lydia Saxton Klang.
Donald graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1944 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and earned his Master of Science in 1949. He was a WW II Veteran of the United States Navy, being honorably discharged as Lieutenant Junior Grade. He was employed by Automatic Electric in Chicago, Illinois, and then General Telephone and Electronics until his retirement.
Donald is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Nancy Page Klang of Stamford. He is also survived by his son David Klang daughter-in-law Susan Klang and grandsons Zachary and Alex ,of Connecticut; his daughter Carol Klang-Peterson and granddaughter Colleen of Rhode Island; his daughter Susan Thibaud and son-in-law Todd Thibaud of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews.
Don’s son-in-law, Dan Peterson, Carol’s husband and Colleen’s father, passed away the day after Don and is deeply missed.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert Klang.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 30th at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, 1101 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT 06905. Arrangements are being handled by the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Donald’s name to the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford or the charity of one’s choice.
