Dora Tricoli passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the age of 95. Dora was born in Ponza, Italy, on December 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Silverio Capone and Civita (Mazzella) Capone.
Dora came to the United States from Italy in 1958 to join her husband, Giovanni. They settled in the Bronx, where they built a loving home and raised their family. She was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first.
Together with her beloved husband, Giovanni, Dora was deeply devoted to Our Lord, the Blessed Virgin, San Silverio and Our Lady of Pity Church. They generously volunteered countless hours, especially for the annual San Silverio feasts, where they gave their time, love, and dedication to their parish community year after year.
In 1975, Dora returned to work at Alexander’s Department Store on Third Avenue in the Bronx, where she remained a dedicated employee until the store’s closing. Often finding her picture up for “employee of the month”. She later worked as a companion at Providence Rest Nursing Home, where she cared for residents with great compassion and kindness.
Dora is survived by her loving daughter, Marie Socci, and her husband, Ralph, of Stamford, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Michael Socci and Paola (Lucian) Tamburro.
In addition to her parents, Dora was predeceased by her beloved husband, Giovanni Tricoli; her beloved son, Vincent Tricoli; and her loving siblings, Antonio Capone, Marietta Guarino, Silvia Columbano, Salvatore Capone, Vincenzo Capone, Francesco Capone, Josephine Scotto, and Aniello Capone.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Leo’s R.C. Church, 24 Roxbury Rd., in Stamford, Connecticut. A funeral procession will follow to Ferncliff Cemetery, where entombment will take place.
Dora will be deeply missed and forever loved. Her strength, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in all of us.
