Doris Reirden
February 14, 1927 — October 26, 2015
Doris A. Reirden, 88, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford on February 14, 1927 to the late Raymond H. and Doris M. Nicoll Reirden.
Doris attended schools in Stamford and was employed as an Executive Secretary for Nestle’s of Stamford for many years. She was a member of both Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church and St. Mary’s RC Church of Stamford.
Doris is survived by her niece Margaret R. “Meg” Reilly and her husband Stephen of Canton, CT, and their children, Pvt. Sean Reilly and his wife Rachelle of Colorado Springs, Brendan Reilly and Katie Reilly both of Canton, CT. Doris is also survived by her nephew, Daniel H. Reirden, MD and his partner, Mark A. Queirolo, of Denver, CO. Also surviving are her friends Michelle Taoussile of CA. and Nancy St. John of Norwalk, CT.
Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her brother Daniel H. Reirden and her sister in law Katherine C. Reirden, as well as her longtime companion George Tiffany.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the Reirden family with the arrangements.
