Dorothea K. Clark; native and lifelong resident of Stamford, died on Wed. May 17, 2006 at Courtland Gardens Health Care Center at the age of 97.
Born Dec. 31, 1908 she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Sullivan Kelly. She was the wife of the late Daniel Clark of Tuxedo Park, New York.
Mrs. Clark was a 1927 graduate of Stamford High School, she attended the Fanny Smith Kindergarden Training School in Bridgeport, earned a B.S. Degreee at Teachers College, Columbia University and later earned her Masters Degree.
She taught Kindergarden classes at Stevens School for many years. Following Mr. Clarks death and her retirement she moved to the Courtland Gardens Residence and lived there until it was necessary for her to move to the building housing the nursing care facility.
Mrs. Clark did not wish for calling hours at the Funeral Home. She hoped that friends would remember her in their prayers.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in her memory at St. Marys RC Church 566 Elm St. Stamford on Friday May 26, 2006 at 12 noon. Interment was held privately.
In lieu of flowers her friends request memorial donations be made in Mrs. Clarks name to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 1 St. Jude Place Building, Attn: Memorial/Honor Program P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300 Memphis, TN 38148-0552.
