Dorothy Bottomly Kowalski, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away at The Villa of Stamford, on Sunday, December 24, 2017. She was born in Stamford on September 21, 1924 to the late Edward and Marion Lockwood Bottomly Tymon.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Rosemary Tymon Ferris, brother in law Philip Giordano and sister in law Ann Tymon.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Emil Kowalski, step-father Robert Tymon, Sr., sisters, Jean Baxter and husband Warren, Shirley Green and husband William, Marion Giordano and brother Sgt. Robert Tymon of the Stamford Police Department.
Dorothy was a member of St. Cecilia’s RC Church of Stamford and St. Edward’s Catholic Church of New Fairfield, CT. Dorothy graduated from Stamford High School, Class of 1942. She held two jobs throughout her career, and retired as a book keeper at DeLuca Construction.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 8:30-9:30 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien.
