Dorothy Gray McCue, 85, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, February 13, 2009, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Chicopee, MA on June 4th, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Thompson Gray.
Dorothy, who was a long time resident of Stamford, was predeceased by her husband Attorney Joseph T. McCue. She worked for many years in the Accounting Department of Yacht Haven Marina in Stamford. She was a great friend to all as well as a generous and loving mother and grandmother. Dot was known for her keen sense of style hot pink lips and oversized shades. She had a wonderful sense of humor - except when playing cards when you might hear her say �"If youre gonna cry, you cant play!
Dorothy is survived by her four children, David McCue and his wife Frances of San Diego, CA, Daniel McCue and his wife Anne of Australia, Hazelann Mattimore and her husband Bryan of Stamford and her beloved baby Patricia Butler and her husband Kieron of Stamford. Dorothy is also survived by her sister Joan Fitzgerald and her husband Ed of Chicopee, MA; ten grandchildren, Christine, Lauren, Blake, Kelly, Meghan, Cathryn, Tommy, Caroline, James and Molly, who will miss her dearly and cherish her memory forever; as well as her nephews Gary and Michael Fitzgerald.

Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, February 15th from 4-7 PM.
A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 16th and proceed to Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
