Dustin Peletier
October 31, 1980 — April 3, 2010
Dustin Peletier, 29, a graduate of Westhill High School in 1999, died alongside his longtime companion Carla Miranda in a tragic car accident on April 3 in Denver, Colorado. He was born on October 31, 1980 in Twenty-Nine Palms, California.
Dustin was drawn to Denver by his love of the outdoors and to pursue the study of art. He and Carla met while attending the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, concentration in Animation & Graphic Design.
Dustin is survived by his mother, Nicol Rupolo, stepfather Vincent Rupolo, father Steven Peletier, stepmother Fay Salwen, sister Stacey Rupolo and brother Peter Rupolo. He is also survived by grandmother Helen Peletier, grandparents Vincent and Nancy Rupolo, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dustin left a wide circle of friends and family who loved him deeply and will miss him terribly. He was recently described by a friend as “a beautiful, kind, creative, fun, and conscious individual, there aren't too many like him.” Dustin’s gentle soul and carefree spirit uniquely touched all who were fortunate enough to meet him.
Funeral Services for Dustin and Carla in Denver, Colorado will be held at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado, on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be on Thursday evening, April 8, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.
Funeral Services for Dustin and Carla in Stamford, Connecticut will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT 06902 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Visitation will be Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 1:00-5:00PM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Donations be made in Dustin and Carla’s names to the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, 1600 Pierce Street, Denver, Colorado 80214.
