Edith Elizabeth Dennis Darling passed away peacefully on Monday, May 3, 2021 surrounded by her large and loving family. Edith was born December 10, 1933 in Rockland, Maine, to the late Raymond and Electa Dennis. She was raised in the small town of Owls Head. In 1952, Edith and her best friend Jo journeyed together from Maine to Stamford, CT. It was there they met the Darling brothers and soon became sisters-in-law.
Edith was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. With her firecracker personality, she was very particular and knew exactly what she wanted. She was selfless and cared deeply, and she would pepper others with questions because she was genuinely concerned and interested in their life and well-being. Edith fought bravely these last few weeks, while still offering support and comfort to her family through her beautiful green eyes.
Waiting for her in heaven was her loving husband, John T. Darling, Sr. Edith is survived by her three sons John T. Darling Jr. of Stamford, CT, Thomas J. Darling of Darien, CT., and Dennis W Darling, Sr. of Stamford, CT (Rose), and one daughter, Karie Tiscia and her husband David of Plymouth, MA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Michele Winslow (Kevin), Jackie Caldarone (Nick), Peter Darling (Gail), Shay Darling, Dennis Darling, Jr (Jenny), Matthew Tiscia, Karlie Stone (Ryan), Amanda Darling, and Stephanie Darling. She will also be tremendously missed by her eleven great- grandchildren, Angelica, Kathrine, Lucas, Noah, Sara, Sydney, Aden, Madisyn, McKenzie, Myranda, Sofia, and one great-grandson on the way, and her great-great grandson, Tayvon. They will all miss the notes and cards she would send them, adorned carefully with cheerful stickers.
In addition to her husband, Edith was predeceased by her three daughters-in-law, Michele M. Darling, Carolyn W. Darling and Patricia W. Darling, her siblings, Peggy, Rae, Ethel and Robert as well as her beloved pug, Norton whom she greatly missed.
A private interment will be held at a later date and time.
