Edward Francis Makarewicz, 93, passed away 6/14/2013 in Stamford , CT.
Born in Waterbury , CT on January 26, 1919 to John Makarewicz and Anna Kawisnicka; the youngest of 7 children. He was loved and appreciated by many, many people throughout his life. Ed was a devout catholic and very proud of his Polish heritage. He was a man of many talents and interests. He loved painting and drawing, playing the piano, but singing was the love of his life. A natural tenor, he performed at many weddings, celebrations, nursing homes and whenever the spirit moved him; which was often.
Ed loved his family deeply. He enjoyed fishing, tennis and teaching others to swim. He excelled at weight lifting and body building long before it was popular. He spent most of his younger life living and working in Waterbury as a toolmaker and carpenter. The later part of his life was lived in beautiful Bethlehem , CT.
Ed was married and divorced to Ann Corcoran; preceded in death by daughter Ellen Makarewicz; survived by his sister Sophie Makarewicz and his children Bruce Makarewicz , Mother Jadwiga (Abbey of Regina Laudis), Paula Pinkham , Barry Makarewicz , Kevin Makarewicz and four grandchildren.
