Edward Yates

Edward W. Yates 71, of Stamford passed away at home on Sunday Feb. 19, 2006.
Born in Stamford May 31, 1934 he was the son of the late Edward J. and Beatrice Gallagher Yates.
Mr. Yates was a central office foreman having worked for the Southern New England Telephone Co. (SNET) until his retirement in 1987 after 31 years of service. He was a graduate of Stamford High School Class of 1952 and was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1952-1956.
He was an avid golfer and a member of the Glenbrook Athletic Club (GAC), the Elks Lodge #899, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians all of Stamford.
Survivors include a son Edward C. Yates, his wife Patricia, and their children Kathleen, and Meghan of Manhattan Beach, California. A daughter Theresa Denham, her husband Brian, and their children Danielle and Brian Jr. of Monroe,CT, and a daughter Carolyn Loughran, her husband Edward, and their children Brendan, and Bridget of Walpole, Mass. A sister Helen Yates of Milford,CT, and a loving friend Helen Caginello of Stamford.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 43 years Marion R. Wiley Yates.
A Funeral Procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford on Thurs. Feb. 23, 2006 at 9:45 AM and proceed to St. Cecilias RC Church 1184 Newfield Ave. Stamford for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Edwards name to VNA Hospice Care 1029 E. Main St. Stamford, CT 06902.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wed. Feb. 22, 2006 from 4-8 PM.
