Edward Zielinski
November 26, 1919 — June 13, 2007
Edward Leonard Zielinski, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 13. He was born in Trenton, NJ November 26, 1919 and was raised in Bridgeport, CT. He had been a resident of Stamford for the last 58 years.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Bacteriology in 1942. He was a Veteran of the Army Air Corps from 1943-1946, a Past President of the Springdale Lions Club, member of the Stamford Senior Mens Club, held leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America and Springdale Little League.
Ed retired from Upjohn Pharmaceuticals after 29 ½ years, worked for Century 21 Real Estate, and was a Health Inspector for the City of Stamford for 11 years.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Zielinski; daughter, Nancy Nedderman and her husband Ted of Burlington, CT; son, Brian and his wife Cynthia of Ortonville, MI; grandchildren, Thomas Nedderman and his wife Linda; Carolyn Solak and her husband Jeff; Edward Zielinski and his wife Lynn; Anthony Zielinski and his wife Wendy; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Hunter Nedderman; Chelsea, Abigail and Bethany Zielinski; and William and Brian Zielinski.
A Memorial Mass will be held at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Stamford EMS, 684 Long Ridge Road, Stamford, CT 06902 to your local EMS, or to the charity of ones choice.
