Edwin Lee �"Red Corbin, 78, passed away on Saturday May 27, 2006 at Stamford Hospital. Born on October 8, 1927 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Joseph Israel and Anna Louise Sheridan Corbin.
He was a Navy Combat Veteran in WWII having served in the Pacific. He was a graduate of Stamford High School and then went on to Iona College graduating with a Bachelors of Science, and a Masters Degree in Counseling from the Fairfield University. He was a retired police officer in the City of Stamford where he served for thirty six years and was assigned to the juvenile department.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin L. Corbin of Torrington, CT; and Kenneth L. and his wife Barbara Corbin of Norwalk; and three grandchildren, Daniel Corbin of New Canaan; Brittany Corbin of New Canaan; and Matthew Corbin of Norwalk.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Dorothy Ann Fowler Corbin; and three brothers, Warren, Robert and Joseph Corbin.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 9:20 AM on Thursday June 1, 2006 and proceed to St. Cecilia RC Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday May 31, 2006 from 5:00 8:00 PM.
