Eileen Russo

Eileen M. Russo, 49, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford on September 27, 1968 to Gail Moavero Russo and Ronald G. Russo (Michele) Summerfield, FL
Besides her parents, Eileen is survived by her siblings, Ronald Russo, Stacey-Jo Murray (Paul), and Jamie Russo, all of Stamford. Also surviving are two nieces, Alexis and Savannah Murray, as well as her puppy Dax.
An avid golfer, political activist, lawyer, amazing mommy to Dax, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, Eileen brought a smile to anybody that had the pleasure of knowing her. Eileen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer six years ago, or as she described it, “I couldn’t get regular ovarian cancer. Nooooo, I had to get the rarest form of it.” Her sarcasm, wit, and most of all, her unbelievable strength, had her beat the prognosis of two years by beating cancer’s ass for six. When she got the diagnosis Eileen said, “It’s ok. I’ll beat this.” She did. At the two-year mark, she beat cancer so bad she won her 2nd Stamford Amateur Golf Championship.
Eileen wouldn’t want people to feel sad for her. She would want people to smile, laugh, cry, tell jokes, recall happy memories, and celebrate her life, and that is what we will all do.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
