Eleanor Frances Carella, 91... A beautiful soul passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Eleanor was loved by everyone who knew her. Eleanor was born on January 31, 1926 and married on July 20, 1946 to Daniel J. Carella (Deceased). She is survived by 4 of her 5 Children: Anthony J. (and Colleen) Carella, Rosemary C. (and John) Martin, Angela M. Carella, and Nancy C. (and John Bradley) Schlegel, with one deceased son, Daniel Carella, Jr. She is survived by 5 Grandchildren: John Daniel Martin, Eleanor Frances Schlegel, Daniel Albert Schlegel, Margaret Rose Martin, and Sarah Ray Schlegel; also survived by two sisters, Angela Matteis of Boca Raton, Florida and Jessica D'Acunto of Stamford, Connecticut. She was the Daughter of Salvatore Michael Camerota and Angela (Papparella) Camerota. She had 7 Predeceased siblings; Adam Camerota, Phyllis Altieri, Mary Matteis, Eve Camerota, James Camerota, Florence De Massa, and Sam Camerota. A devoted wife and mother, always exemplified unconditional Love and Integrity. Eleanor loved children, music, reading, and watching the birds and deer from her kitchen window. Prior to marriage, she attended Stamford High School and then worked for Mayer Handbag Company in Norwalk.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5:00-9:00 PM.
